Band 3 Physiotherapy Clinical Support Worker
Acute Orthopaedic Physiotherapy Team

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Physiotherapy Team in the RIE.
This post will work alongside Physiotherapists and other Physiotherapy Support Workers within the Orthopaedic team.
As a physiotherapy assistant you will be allocated a delegated patient caseload by the qualified physiotherapist and be involved in assisted treatments. This will include progressing patients, reassessing and discharging within scope of practice and under the supervision of the ward physiotherapist. Full engagement with the multidisciplinary team on your ward is another key part of this position.
You will also support the physiotherapy team through a range of non-clinical duties, from equipment ordering, referring patients to primary care teams, to assisting with statistical information collation for patient activity audit purposes.
Candidates should display evidence of experience of teaching prescribed exercise programmes, gait re-education, general rehabilitation skills and administrative tasks.
The individual must display excellent communication and organisational skills, with an ability to work alone or with others.
Experience of working on wards in an acute hospital setting would be ideal.
Previous experience as a physiotherapy assistant or within the physiotherapy profession would be beneficial.
The individual must display evidence of highly competent computer based tasks and administrative duties.
There will be a requirement to participate in our Weekend Rota which is around a 1:9 frequency.
Physiotherapy Services support staff development through appraisal processes, supervision and CPD opportunities.

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
