NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the United Kingdom, employing approximately 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million people, and to a wider population of 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.

The role:

You need to have a General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) registration in order to be considered for this post.

Our BWoSCC Pharmacy team prepares and checks high‑volume systemic anti‑cancer therapy (SACT) and supports complex therapies including ATMP/CAR‑T, working across inpatient, day case and outpatient pathways. The post holder will split their time between clinical cancer care and the aseptic service (circa 50% in dispensary/aseptic), contributing to safe, timely production and release, clinical verification, and continual service improvement.

We’re a dynamic, friendly service committed to innovation, quality and development. You’ll join a team that encourages optimisation of skills (e.g., NMP, advanced practice) and offers broad exposure across cancer specialties, with real scope to shape service improvements.

PVG Scheme membership (Disclosure Scotland) is required for roles involving regulated work with vulnerable groups; candidates must complete/hold PVG membership in line with NHSGGC guidance.

  • Contribute to service development initiatives (e.g., optimising non‑medical prescribing and advanced practice), aligned to local cancer care priorities.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient flow and experience across inpatient, day case and outpatient settings.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

Essential:

  • GPhC‑registered Pharmacist.
