The role:

The team provide community-based tier 3 NHS specialist mental health and neurodevelopmental assessment and intervention based on the principles of equality, dignity and respect and which takes into account spiritual and cultural diversity. Within CAMHS we have robust CAMHS training and development programme and encourage all staff to participate in ongoing learning. This includes a range of training such as essential CAMHS for those who are new to CAMHS.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

  • This is a permanent position working 36 hours per week
  • You will work Monday-Friday 09.00-17.00 however, we are willing to discuss the flexibility around your own shift pattern to meet the team's needs.
  • You will be based at Woodside Health and Social Care Centre.

Key responsibilities:

You will join Specialist Children’s Services at North CAMHS - Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service community team based at Woodside Health and Care Centre

You will contribute support to all clinicians within the team including nursing, AHPs and Clinical Psychology while supporting with both individual and groupwork, following through episodes of care, run clinics for physical obs, venepuncture and short pieces of specific intervention with both children and young people or their parent/carer.

You may also support with aspects of neurodevelopmental assessment and intervention under supervision while providing a service to a defined geographical area for children and young people and their families who are experiencing moderate to severe psychiatric disorders and neuro-developmental disorders.

This also includes those whose vulnerability and mental health is impacting negatively on most areas of their life.

Participation in regular clinical and line management supervision with a designated member of the CAMHS team will be expected.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

  • We are looking for someone who demonstrates excellent communication and organisational skills, an ability to work using own initiative alongside clinical guidance and supervision to carry out agreed tasks. You should have a positive attitude towards children and young people and some knowledge of factors which impact on mental health and emotional well-being.
  • An ability to fulfil main duties and responsibilities as outlined in band 4 job description.
  • You should have the ability to function competently as a member of the multi-disciplinary and multi-agency team and have knowledge of factors that impact on mental health and emotional wellbeing.
  • You should have an SVQ/HNC in health/social care or equivalent
