The role:

We are looking for someone committed, motivated, and ready to take on a demanding yet rewarding role within the NHS. As a small department within a large and dynamic finance team, we manage invoicing, debt management, and credit control — ensuring all outstanding NHSGGC debts are pursued using a range of recovery methods.

You’ll join a motivated and supportive finance team committed to improving services. In this role, you will:

Key responsibilities:

Reporting to the Accounts Receivable Supervisor, you will:

  • Prepare and process sales invoices and credit notes within agreed timescales, ensuring accurate recording
  • Undertake credit control activities to recover outstanding debts
  • Engage with a wide range of customers across the UK
  • Maintain professionalism in challenging conversations
  • Manage queries by telephone, email and ensure accurate follow‑up
  • Work collaboratively with NHS managers and finance colleagues


Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

  • An NVQ3 is required. Exceptions will be made for candidates with excellent relevant experience.
  • Working knowledge of IT, word processing and spreadsheets.
  • A good level of understanding of sales ledger systems and procedures is desirable but not essential.
  • A finance/accounting background is essential.
  • Good numeric and analytical skills are required for problem-solving and swift and efficient processing.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to work with staff from other departments and discuss with customers. A good telephone manner is especially required.

-Cedar e-financials training will be provided if necessary.
