Position:

An opportunity has arisen for a Porter/ Security based at Ayrshire Central Hospital on a permanent basis.

Hours and Shift Pattern:

14.8hrs per week.

Week 1 & 3 – Thurs, Fri 3pm – 11pm (30min break)

Week 2 & 4 – Sat/Sun 3pm – 11pm (30min break)

What you will do:

The general role of porter/security is widely varied and consists of duties such as driving, monitoring CCTV, patrolling premises, locking and securing premisies, issuing keys. You will assist as a presence in incidents related to violence and aggression and communicate with internal and external bodies. There will be occasional times when you are required to assist colleagues within the grounds and portering staff with gritting, waste management, delivery & collection of meals/mail/oxygen/supplies to wards and outlying buildings.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

  • Applicants should be physically fit and have a flexible attitude towards working hours and shift patterns.
  • Strong customer care and communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to use own initiative to anticipate and make appropriate decisions.
  • Expected to work with minimal supervision.
  • A full UK driving licence is essential for this role.
  • Previous experience is desirable, but full training will be provided.
