To provide a comprehensive caretaker and reception service to facilitate the smooth running of Eastwood Heath & Care Centre. The post holder will act as a communication hub for all facilities management matters. Support a range of services provided by the HSCP located within the Centre including Homecare, GP Services, Care of the Elderly, Physiotherapy and Podiatry services.
This post would support the existing part time Facilities Officer, to ensure support to the Eastwood Health and Care Centre at all times. Cross site cover (Barrhead Health and Care Centre) may also be required on occasion. The post holder will work within clearly defined protocols and procedures, adhering to NHSGGC policies eg.
Health and Safety, GDPR and Confidentiality.
Although the position is line managed, following induction and on the job training, the Facilities Officer requires to work on their own initiative managing their daily workload and all supportive tasks associated. Guidance and assistance is available from supervisor/line manager as required. Each post holder will have a Personal Development Plan
The role:
1. Responsible for internal and external security of the building, checking all windows and doors, making regular tours of the building. Opening up and setting/ unsettling of alarms, opening and locking all doors throughout the Health Centre.
2. Provision of Help Desk reception and telephone duties, welcoming patients and visitors to building, directing them to appropriate departments.
3. Act as a communication hub for all facilities management matters.
4. Responsible for internal and external mail including, sorting, franking and distribution.
5. Distribution of uplifts and deliveries of supplies within the building, etc District Nursing stores, domestic supplies, stationery
supplies, to be distributed to appropriate departments within the building.
6. Required to set up Atrium / rooms for meetings, moving furniture and equipment.
This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Heath and Care Worker visa. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is unable to provide candidates or employees with a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
- 1x permanent part-time post available with 17.5 hours per week.
- The shift pattern is Monday 3.30pm-7pm, Tuesday to Friday 2.30pm-6pm.
- Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours

From 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will reduce from 37 hours to 36 hours. Part-time working hours will be reduced on a pro-rata basis. A corresponding increase in the hourly rate will apply, ensuring that overall pay remains unchanged.
