The Role
Based within the pan-Lanarkshire Harm Reduction Team, this post is a fantastic opportunity for the right person to participate in the development and facilitation of the Lanarkshire Harm Reduction Low Threshold Service, offering a comprehensive locally based service for hard to reach, recreational, experimental and dependent substance use clients.
The role will be involved in providing an accessible outreach service offering a range of harm reduction options including BBV testing, referral and supporting treatment completion, needle exchange, injecting risk and agreed health assessments and referral on to services and advices and support to clients engaging/not engaging with mainstream health and social services. The person will be involved in service user and public awareness on all aspects of substance use issues around harm reduction.

Applicant must have current full drivers licence and be comfortable driving a large van.
The working pattern for this role is Monday - Friday (09.00am - 17.00pm).
In this key role, you will:
- Participate in the development and facilitation of the Low Threshold Outreach Service across Lanarkshire that will be involved in interventions that will help meet Scottish Government Targets, including individualised packages of care to clients with substance misuse problems.
- To be involved in providing an accessible outreach service offering a range of harm reduction options including BBV activities, needle exchange, injecting risk and agreed health assessments and referral on to services and advices and support to clients engaging/not engaging with mainstream health and social services.
- Be familiar with all NHS Lanarkshire policies and Sub-Unit policies in relation to your employment and to client care.
- Maintain data collection for audit purposes in collaboration with the Harm Reduction Team Manager.
What You'll Bring:
- Minimum HNC qualification in a health/social care/studies or equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of 2 years experience working within the addictions field or proof of a similar role with supported relevant experience of working within a caring capacity.
- Ability to work with people as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- The post holder will be required to demonstrate excellent team working skills with the ability to work using own initiative.
- A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
