Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioner (Band 7 – Annex 21)
Flow Navigation Centre Plus (FNC+) – NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde
Base: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow
Hours: 36 hours per week | 7-day service
Shifts: 08:00–22:00 (with planned move to 24/7)
Contract: Permanent
Salary: AfC Band 7 (Annex 21)

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our innovative Flow Navigation Centre Plus (FNC+) as a Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioner.
FNC+ is a nationally recognised virtual urgent care service, supporting NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s transformation of urgent and unscheduled care. Working as a virtual hospital, we deliver safe, timely and person‑centred care via video and telephone consultations, ensuring patients receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time.
The Role
This is a structured development post under Band 7 (Annex 21), supporting progression to full Advanced Nurse Practitioner level.
You will deliver advanced clinical assessment and decision‑making across a range of virtual urgent care pathways, including Virtual A&E, Call Before Convey, Care Home Falls and Virtual Hospital, while receiving close clinical supervision and mentorship from a senior ANP team.
Who We Are Looking For
You must be able to clearly demonstrate:
- Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
- Extensive experience working at Level 6 (Nurse Practitioner level)
- Significant experience in Urgent Care, Emergency Care, Acute Medicine, Primary Care or Paediatrics
- Strong autonomous clinical decision‑making and risk management skills
- Commitment to completing an Advanced Practice academic pathway
- Enthusiasm for innovation, digital healthcare and service development
