This exciting opportunity has arisen to work as part of the senior Physiotherapy team at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, working in the Major Trauma, Neurosurgery and Cardiothoracic units as part of a job share.

This post would suit an experienced Band 6 Physiotherapist who is looking to develop their clinical and managerial skills. Clinical development will be supported with CPD time and the department actively encourages staff of all grades to meet their potential.

The successful post holder will work alongside established senior clinicians supporting physiotherapists in managing patients presenting with major or poly trauma across the Acute Sector, with a neurological diagnosis or patients in cardiothoracic surgery.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Physiotherapist with experience in orthopaedics, surgical and neurosciences specialities. A broad range of acute skills is essential and the ability to work across clinical boundaries is vital. Good general respiratory skills are necessary as the patients may be in a Critical care or High Dependency Unit environment.

The set days for this post will be Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. However the post may contribute to 5 over 7 working in the future as services develop.

This post will contribute to our weekend and oncall service.

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
