An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and compassionate Band 5 Nurse to join Aberdeenshire Drug & Alcohol Services, supporting the delivery of a Blood Borne Virus (BBV) service to individuals affected by substance use. This post is fixed for 1 year.

The post holder will play a key role in improving access to BBV screening, prevention, treatment and care for individuals who use drugs and alcohol, aligning with national priorities including the Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Standards and Scotland’s “Preventing Harm, Promoting Recovery” Strategy (2026–2035).


The successful candidate will support already established teams and will be required to work in partnership with other providers and agencies within North Aberdeenshire to deliver recovery orientated community drug/alcohol treatment to clients recovering from addiction.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual with excellent communication and team working skills, have some experience of working with people with drug or alcohol problems, and ready to provide a high standard of care when addressing substance use issues.
