Acute Respiratory Physiotherapy Team

Trainee AHP Support Worker

Band 3 and progress to Band 4 on completion of development framework

Are you passionate about delivering high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced, acute hospital environment? Do you have an interest in supporting patients following surgery and working as part of a physiotherapy team delivering quality rehabilitation?

We are looking for a proactive individual to join our acute surgical Physiotherapy Team. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with patients in the immediate post-operative phase and support their recovery through assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation interventions.

Successful candidates will be supported to follow a 12–18-month development programme, allowing the development of skills required for this role. Your responsibilities will include delivering and progressing treatment plans, reassessing patients, and facilitating safe and timely discharges. You will be guided by evidence-based protocols and supported by a team of registered physiotherapists. The post also includes responsibility for relevant administrative and housekeeping tasks as part of your role.

You will also contribute to service development initiatives and quality improvement activities. Ongoing professional development is actively encouraged and supported within the team.

Previous caring experience or working within a care setting is essential. The successful candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Informal enquiries/visits welcome. Please contact Emma Black, Acute Respiratory Team Lead, on 01382 632628.
