Job Summary
We are seeking a visionary and experienced Clinical Director to join Edinburgh Health & Social Care Partnership (EHSCP). This is a unique opportunity to lead clinical transformation across integrated health and social care services, improving outcomes for a growing and diverse population.
As a senior leader within the EHSCP senior management team, you will provide strategic clinical leadership, ensure robust clinical governance, and drive service redesign aligned with national and local priorities.
Main Duties of the Job
- Lead the development and planning of clinical services across EHSCP.
- Ensure safe, effective, and high-quality care through strong clinical governance.
- Manage and support clinical staff including consultants and GPs,.
- Drive service transformation to address health inequalities and improve patient experience.
- Represent EHSCP in regional forums and contribute to NHS Lothian-wide planning.
- Provide clinical leadership and advice to the Integration Joint Board (IJB).

Person Specification
Essential:
- MBChB or equivalent medical qualification
- Membership of a Medical Royal College
- GMC registration
- Minimum 3 years in a senior clinical role (Consultant or GP) as a substantive post holder in a 17j, 17c, 2c practice or hospital department
- Experience in clinical governance and quality assurance
- Proven leadership in multidisciplinary teams and service redesign
- Broad understanding of primary, secondary, and social care services
- Strategic thinking, change management, and excellent communication skills
Desirable:
- Experience in strategic planning and policy development
- Ability to engage with external stakeholders
- Supportive and visible leadership style
