An exciting opportunity has arisen for a salaried GP to join our friendly, supportive GP training practice in Orkney. The post is advertised at 6–8 sessions; however, we are happy to consider flexible or alternative working arrangements for the right candidate.

We deliver high quality, patient centred care with a strong emphasis on teamwork, wellbeing and sustainability. We offer protected weekly administrative time, regular team meetings, and daily coffee breaks within a highly experienced multidisciplinary team.

About the Practice

  • Patient list size: 5,500
  • Main surgery based in the modern Balfour Hospital, Kirkwall
  • Dispensing site in South Ronaldsay
  • Branch surgeries in Shapinsay (20‑minute ferry) and North Ronaldsay (15‑minute flight), providing rewarding rural primary care experience with on‑site ANP support
  • Flexible job plan, with opportunities to work across sites, offering variety while retaining the continuity and community focus of traditional rural general practice.

The Team

  • 4 GP Partners, 4 Salaried GPs
  • Practice Nurses and HCA at both Kirkwall and South Ronaldsay
  • Experienced administrative team and support from the wider PCIP MDT
