Entry Criteria for a Specialty Doctor:
A doctor appointed to this grade:
shall have full registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council (GMC);
And
- shall have completed at least four years’ full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a less than full-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme or specialty registrar locum appointment for training (LAT);
Or
- shall have equivalent training, experience or competencies, either in the UK or overseas.
Applications are welcome for the above Permanent, part time (24 hours per week) post based in St Johns Hospital.
The postholder will work across General Medicine and Gastroenterology, joining a team of enthusiastic and motivated consultant physicians, Advanced Nurse Practiitioners and Physician Associates within a unit recognised for its innovation and passion for improvement. The unit has a strong emphasis on medical education and training as well as close links with the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit, input from all the medical specialties, as well as an Endoscopy Unit with two procedure rooms.
Gastroenterology duties will involve one new and one return outpatient clinic per week and one endoscopy session per week plus support for GI in-reach to the Medical Assessment Unit.
