Position:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Patient Meal Supervisor within our Catering team based at Ayrshire Central Hospital
Hours and Shift Pattern:
7 days on/7days off 19 hours per week Friday to Thursday
1345-1945 weekdays and 1345-1945 weekends
However, applicants who wish to be considered must be available to cover all shifts within the department between the hours of 7.00am – 7.45pm which may include Sat/Sun to cover staff leave.
This post is offered on a fixed term basis until 21/05/2027
What you will do:
The main kitchen at Ayrshire Central Hospital provides in excess of 750 patients prepared and cooked meals every day, including therapeutic diets to patients, as well as meal services for the staff and the public. In addition, we cater for and provide hospitality for meetings and functions.
Your duties will include the man management of staff, responsibility for communication and direction of all staff within your area. Organizing staff duty rotas to include leave, in house training. Processing Patient menu cards and the specific service of patient meals. Maintaining a high standard of hygiene, recording and monitoring data for HACCP and Environmental Health

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
Essential -
Experience within a large-scale catering setting
supervisory/team management experience
knowledge of food safety systems and a basic Food Hygiene Certificate
Desired -
NHS catering experience
IDDSI Knowledge and Advanced Food Hygiene Certificate
