The Role

As part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will carry out care duties for patients, in support of a registered nurse, and will regularly work unsupervised. The post holder will carry out assigned duties to maintain hygiene, order and safety within the ward environment.

In this key role, you will:

• Carry out assigned tasks to deliver and support direct patient care, under the direction of a registered nurse, to ensure delivery of a high quality of patient care.
• Maintain good relationships and an emphatic approach to clients’ carers and relatives and refer them to a registered nurse for any questions they may have on the patients’ condition or for any suggestions or complaints that they wish to raise.
• Assist in maintaining and promoting patients’ nutritional intake and fluid balance e.g. serving food and fluids and assisting patients, as required.
• Provide, guidance and support to less experienced staff under the direction of a registered nurse.

What You'll Bring:

• SVQ III in healthcare, or working towards, or equivalent experience working within a caring environment/role.
• Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary/agency team.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to carry out assigned patient care tasks effectively within a busy environment.
• Full & valid UK/EU/EEA Driving Licence due to the remote location of Lady Home Hospital.
