The role:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Charge Nurse within Ward 8 at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. The successful candidate will support the Senior Charge Nurse, help drive ongoing improvement, and ensure high‑quality patient care.
This role includes deputising for the Senior Charge Nurse and leading the nursing team in their absence.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
Location: Ward 8, Glasgow Royal Infirmary
Duration: Permanent, Part-time 32.69 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Rotational
Key responsibilities:
Provide clinical leadership in assessing patient needs and implementing evidence‑based care plans.
Evaluate programmes of care to maintain high clinical standards.
Lead and coordinate the ward and nursing team when required.
Support ongoing improvement initiatives within the ward.
Deputise for the Senior Charge Nurse during their absence.
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
Ability to demonstrate leadership experience within a team.
High degree of clinical expertise with a commitment to high‑quality standards.
Excellent communication and sound decision‑making skills.
Evidence of ongoing professional development.
Flexible, forward‑thinking approach suited to a changing and dynamic clinical environment.
