About the Role
This role offers opportunity to join a highly skilled multidisciplinary team delivering inpatient care across three wards.
- Cardiology ward
- Coronary care unit
- Respiratory ward
As part of this team, you will:
- Work alongside the multi-disciplinary teams optimising the pharmaceutical care for inpatients and outpatients within cardiology and respiratory services.
- Provide expert medicines management advice, optimising prescribing decisions to enhance patient safety and outcomes.
- Be supported by lead pharmacists and have the opportunity for service improvement, professional development and leadership opportunities in line with the RPS Advanced Pharmacist Curriculum.

About you
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist with a passion for delivering exceptional clinical care.
Essential Qualifications and Competencies:
- A Master of Pharmacy Degree (or equivalent).
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Completed training or equivalent competence mapped to the RPS Post-Registration Foundation Pharmacist Curriculum.
Skills and Attributes:
- Experience in proactively influencing prescribing, using clinical knowledge to optimise patient care.
- A strong patient-focused approach, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, enabling effective decision-making in an acute medical setting.
- A proactive attitude, with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- A strong alignment with NHS Lothian’s values and a willingness to contribute to our dynamic team.
