An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and motivated Radiographers to join the GJNH Radiology Team. Applications are welcomed from both experienced and newly qualified practitioners. The GJUNH provides essential waiting times imaging for all Health Boards in NHS Scotland, along with specialist imaging services as the West of Scotland Cardiothoracic Centre and also supports the NHS Golden Jubilee site by providing in-patient imaging. The department currently has 4 MRI Scanners, 3 CT scanners, 5 Cardiac Cath Labs, 4 X-ray rooms, 1 Dexa Scanner, 1 dual purpose X-ray/Fluoroscopy room, as well as numerous Image Intensifiers and mobile units. Radiology also hosts the National Ultrasound Training Programme within our department.
This role will be based in the Plain Film imaging department, to provide x-ray, DEXA and fluoroscopic imaging for both in-patient and outpatients. The workload is interesting and diverse, with ongoing clinical supervision and CPD provision. You will be required to justify and perform radiographic examinations, providing direct care and maintaining a high quality, patient-centred diagnostic service. There may be some scope to provide some limited training and exposure in either Cardiac Cath Lab, MRI or CT scanning. You will be required to work as part of a multidisciplinary team within the innovative Cardio-Thoracic services such as Scottish Adult Congenital Cardiac Service (SACCS), Scottish Pulmonary Vascular Unit (SPVU), Scottish National Acute Heart Failure Service (SNAFS), and the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) service, as well as a large Orthopaedic service. NHS Golden Jubilee has a centre of excellence and innovation which leads to exciting research opportunities for the department.
There will be a commitment to 7 day working over an extended day, therefore a flexible approach will be required. Rotation through a selection of imaging modalities based on your previous experience and service needs is essential; training in the specialist imaging protocols will be fully provided once in post. CPD and clinical supervision will be supported on an ongoing basis.
NHS Golden Jubilee is open to considering flexible working options for this role.
