FIXED TERM ST1/2 and ST3+ LEVEL RESIDENT DR - CLINICAL FELLOWS
ACUTE AND GENERAL MEDICINE AND MEDICINE FOR THE ELDERLY
NHS TAYSIDE
Applications are welcomed by NHS Tayside for Fixed Term ST1/2 and ST3+ equivalent Clinical Fellows in Acute Medicine, General Medicine and Medicine for the Elderly. There are multiple posts available, and the successful candidate(s) will be based at Ninewells Hospital and/or Perth Royal Infirmary.
These posts will commence in August 2026 and are for 12 months in the first instance.
Applicants must have successfully completed Foundation training or the equivalent.
All posts include:
- protected development time of up to a half day per week
- a named mentor for the duration of the post
- experience within acute care environments such as AMU
- ability to attend local teaching such as for PACES
- Out of hours work will be on the AMU ST1/2 rota, which is supported by resident on-call Registrars at all times, or the ST3+ rota if applicable.
These posts provide an excellent opportunity for doctors who wish to develop their experience in different medical specialities, gain experience in quality improvement and teaching, who require a clinical post to support completion of postgraduate exams, or who wish to pursue an alternative career pathway.
The opportunity may exist, for those with an interest in a longer-term non-training grade post, to progress to a substantive specialty doctor post within Acute and General Medicine. Support would be provided to progress within this role and develop skills eg within medical high dependency.
In addition, candidates may have the opportunity to expand their generalist training into other specialist medical and surgical areas.
Informal enquiries are welcomed by the service and contact details can be found in the attached job pack.
