Applications are invited for a fixed term clinical fellow post within NHS Tayside, available from 5th August 2026 until 3rd August 2027.
The post will be based primarily in Ninewells hospital with some elective services delivered at Perth Royal Infirmary and Stracathro Regional Treatment Centre. The post-holder will be required to work under the supervision of consultant staff in the management of emergency and elective general surgical patients (including breast surgery). The post holder will contribute to a 24/7 junior tier registrar rota.
The appointees will be expected to perform at the level equivalent to that of at least a CST1.
The posts are aimed at doctors actively preparing for an application for core surgical training national selection commencing August 2027.
There will be a contribution to the emergency duties in General Surgery at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, coupled with compensatory days off. The other weeks will involove elective surgical practice.
Clinical fellows are assigned an educational supervisor and have assessments completed through ISCP. The post is of high educational value and can provide portfolio requirements for further applications.
