The Role
University Hospital Monklands is seeking an experienced Nurse. In this role you will be the professional and clinical lead for nursing/midwifery services, within area of responsibility and as required across NHS Lanarkshire. You will be an expert practitioner providing professional leadership, support and advice within the multi-disciplinary team across NHS Lanarkshire.
You will lead the development and implementation of a programme of clinical audit and research activity within the context of clinical governance and be responsible for auditing, evaluating, implementing and monitoring clinical standards. You will provide advice, support, and contribute to the education of staff, as appropriate, within area of responsibility.
Please note this is a fixed term post for 6 months. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment.
The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.
Please note this post is part time 28.8hrs, salary is pro rata.
In this key role, you will:
- Develop strategies and operational plans to support and meet changing operational service requirements.
- Deputise for the Associate Director of Nursing / Chief of Nursing Services / Chief of Midwifery Services when required, providing professional advice and support to the Nurse Director on all aspects of the service
- Undertake and implement expert clinical nursing/midwifery leadership and practice by coaching, developing, supporting and advising nursing/midwifery staff on professional clinical issues within the area of responsibility
- Lead on and participate in health care needs of patients, carers and staff, to ensure adequate service provision.
What You'll Bring:
- Registered Nurse, Midwife or ODP with valid NMC/HCPC Registration . Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level
- Be able to demonstrate knowledge of NHS Scotland’s Leadership Qualities framework or equivalent framework
- Management knowledge gained through experience and continuous professional development
- Professional, leadership and managerial experience within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
- Extensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the health care agenda.
