The opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the multidisciplinary team of the Intensive Care Unit at Ninewells Hospital.

You will have a primary base within the Intensive Care Unit, Ninewells Hospital and will work flexibly across the other three units within Critical Care Services.

Critical Care Services, as part of the Surgical Directorate comprise of Four units; an Intensive Care Unit, an adult Surgical High Dependency Unit of 10 beds at Ninewells Hospital, a six bedded Medical High Dependency and an 8 bed combined adult General High Dependency/ Coronary Care Unit at PRI. The role of these services is to work in a single system to enable the effective delivery of high-quality patient services for level 2 and level 3 in-patients.

You will work as part of the Ninewells Hospital Intensive Care Unit team fulfilling a dual role of healthcare assistant, including general healthcare assistant duties, clerical, administrative and housekeeping/ infection control duties. You must be able to work independently, prioritizing workload in an environment that is constantly changing. We are looking for someone who is organised, with excellent communication skills and good IT skills. Familiarity with NHS systems such as TRAKCARE & PECOS would be beneficial

You will be required to undertake any necessary training, to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for healthcare support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.

Pending banding review, potential to increase to Band 3.
