Position:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly motivated Oncology Clinical Pharmacist to join the senior pharmacy team within cancer services across NHS Ayrshire and Arran.
Hours:
18 hours per week.
The hours for this post will be worked Monday 0830-1630 and Tuesday 0830-1600 and Wednesday 0900-1230
You will participate in weekend, public holiday and extended hours as required. In accordance with AFC terms and conditions you may be required to work over 7 days and/or an extended working day. This post is based at University Hospital Crosshouse but has an area-wide remit therefore travel to other hospital sites may be required.
What you will do:
The post holder will have responsibilities for Oncology and Haematology patients in both, the inpatient and outpatient settings. They will also work with the wider cancer Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDT) at both a local, and regional level, to safely deliver Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapies across Ayrshire.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work, within a highly motivated oncology team, to contribute to clinical governance work, by having an active role in local and national specialist groups.
You will be responsible for the development, provision, management and evaluation of a highly specialised clinical Oncology pharmacy service. Additionally, with a Non-Medical Prescribing role, you will work with the wider MDT in a defined clinical area. There will be an opportunity to develop advanced practice skills. An interest/involvement in research is actively encouraged

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

The ideal candidate shall possess excellent communication skills and have experience working within Oncology. A passion for driving forward change is essential as well as the ability to work well as part of a team, in addition to being able to work autonomously.
