The role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time, permanent B6 Physiotherapy post in the Major Trauma service and the Head Injury Acute rehabilitation team (HiART ) in the QEUH.
The Scottish Trauma Centre Network provides all aspects of trauma care, from the point of injury to rehabilitation, in the region. At the heart of the regional network, is the Major Trauma Centre at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) in Glasgow.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated physiotherapist to join the AHP Major Trauma Service. This post is essential to the delivery of care in the major trauma centre and integral to the development of the rehabilitation model. You will work within the multidisciplinary team and will be required to work across both the Major Trauma and Head Injury Acute Rehabilitation teams based in the Major Trauma service depending on service requirements.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
- This is a permanent, full-time post of 36 hours per week.
- Based at Major Trauma Service, QEUH.
- You will be required to participate in the physiotherapy emergency on call, weekend rota and participating in seven day working.
Key responsibilities:
The post holder will provide expert direct clinical care, which encompasses physiotherapy assessment, treatment and management of patients as part of the in-patient service. You will clinically be responsible for rotational physiotherapists and support workers.
You will lead in service development and implement service change. It is essential that you are educated to a BSc/Diploma in physiotherapy while being registered with HCPC. You should have significant post graduate experience with previous clinical experience in the treatment of Major Trauma and head injury patients. You should have excellent communication and leadership skills.
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
- Degree or diploma leading to Physiotherapy HCPC registration
- Current HCPC registration
- Significant experience in a range of relevent clinical specialties
- Relevant post graduate training – regular in-service training and post graduate courses and evidence of application of acquired skills
- Working knowledge of basic IT – e.g. word processing, use of internet, Data base management

- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
- Fire Safety
