Come and Work with Us!

We are a modern, progressive Finance Department that prides itself on re-shaping the role of the traditional Accountant, and playing our part in ensuring “everyone has the best care experience possible” in line with the Board’s vision.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for anyone who wishes to pursue a career in Public Sector Finance as a Management Accountant. This role offers the chance to work in a fast paced, complex and rewarding environment, contributing to the financial and operational management of NHS Tayside.

Working with senior management accounting staff, the post holder will be responsible for delivering a management accounts service to an organisational area/service/department. As a member of the Finance Tea, the post holder will assist in supporting the organisation to ensure strong financial management within NHS Tayside.

This role involves working within a team of forward thinking professionals in Management Accounting whilst also working in parallel with a broad range of services. You will be part of a team responsible for providing a comprehensive financial management service to ensure effective budgetary control and financial balance, demonstrating your proactive approach, initiative and ability to prioritise workload.

Dundee is innovative, creative and enjoys more hours of sunshine than any other Scottish city. Rich heritage, countryside splendour and thriving industries are abundant and is encapsulated the Dundee’s slogan, ‘One City, Many Discoveries’.

Eligibility to Work in the UK

To work in the United Kingdom, there is a legal requirement for an individual to demonstrate that they have the relevant permission to work in the country. This permission is, without exception, granted by the UK Visa and Immigration Service.

As part of the pre-employment checks for a preferred candidate, NHS Scotland Boards will check your entitlement to work in the UK. It can be evidenced through a number of routes including specific types of visa as well as EU settled and pre-settled status.

For specific types of post, if you do not have the necessary eligibility to work in the UK, it might be possible (though not guaranteed) to secure sponsorship via a UK Skilled Worker/Health & Care Worker Visa. However, this is only possible if the employer is a licensed Sponsor, and if the post does not fall below the minimum salary threshold.

It is essential that you have checked that you either already have an appropriate right to work in the UK or that the post would be eligible to be sponsored BEFORE submitting your application form.

Application Form

As part of the application process, candidates are required to answer pre-set questions in the application form. These responses should be completed in your own words and clearly demonstrate your individual experience and suitability for the role. To ensure a fair and consistent recruitment process, applicants are asked not to use AI tools or automated content when completing the application form. Applications showing evidence of non-original or generic responses may not be considered.

Your performance must comply with the national “Mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers 2009” and with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers.
