Job Advert

The Walk‑In Service, hosted by the Out of Hours Primary Care (GMED) team, is looking to recruit a Salaried GP to join our dynamic and responsive service.

Walk‑in services provide same‑day access to urgent primary care without the need for a booked appointment and form part of a major national pilot programme funded by the Scottish Government. This programme is helping to shape future models of urgent and unscheduled care across Scotland.

You may be an experienced GP seeking a new challenge in a fast‑paced environment, or a GP looking for an opportunity to develop further and contribute to an innovative service model. Either way, this role offers a unique opportunity to work at the heart of urgent primary care.

As a Salaried GP within the Walk‑In Centre, you will provide a full range of general medical services including urgent assessment, diagnosis, treatment and onward referral. You will work closely with the Clinical Lead, Service Manager and wider multidisciplinary team to ensure high‑quality, safe, person‑centred care. You will also play an active role in the continuing development of the service.

There are 1.3 WTE posts available, full-time, part‑time and flexible working arrangements will be considered. The service also invites applicants who are interested in a Bank position within the Walk-In Centre.

This post is based within Aberdeen Health Village. Flexibility is essential, as the role includes evening and weekend working, and GPs are expected to contribute to cover arrangements for colleague annual/study leave.

Enhanced pay rates apply for agreed evening and weekend sessions.

Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is required. (licence to practise must be in place prior to starting in post). For more information visit www.gmc-uk.org

Applications for this role will be reviewed on an on going basis.
