The role:

The post‑holder is a senior member of the Community Addictions Service, working in partnership with patients, carers and multi‑agency professionals. They will provide compassionate, recovery‑focused nursing care to individuals experiencing problematic alcohol and/or drug use. The role includes holding a clinical caseload, supporting duty functions, and delivering assessments and interventions across community and home‑based settings.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

  • Base location - Wellpark Centre

  • Shift pattern evenings and weekends. (yet to be confirmed)

  • Fixed Term until 21/01/27, Part-time

Key responsibilities:

  • Caseload management — Carry a caseload of alcohol and drug service users and deliver all relevant nursing duties.

  • Mental health assessments — Complete routine assessments for psychology referrals and urgent mental health assessments as required.

  • Clinical interventions — Assess, formulate, implement and evaluate recovery programmes using a strength‑based, person‑centred approach.

  • Home and community visits — Provide interventions in the home or near‑home environment when service users cannot attend the service.

  • MAT Standards delivery — Contribute to the delivery of Medication‑Assisted Treatment (MAT) standards and GGC ADRS pathways and work plans.

  • Supervision and leadership — Provide and participate in regular nurse supervision; undertake line‑management duties.

  • Staff development — Supervise junior staff and students, including mentorship and preceptorship responsibilities.

  • Partnership working — Promote collaborative working with patients, carers and partner agencies in line with legislation and clinical policy.

  • Clinical tasks — Carry out requested bloods and other routine nursing duties for any service user.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

  • Registered Nurse Level 1 with NMC registration (essential).

  • experience at Band 5 level.

  • Preference for experience in addictions or community nursing.

  • Working knowledge of:

    • MAT Standards

    • GGC ADRS Alcohol Pathway

    • GGC ADRS Nursing Work Plan
