1WTE Band 7 Advanced Adult Orthoptist-Permanent

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Orthoptist who has a wide range of orthoptic experience who can deliver core and sub speciality orthoptic practice predominately based at the Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion in central Edinburgh with some ad hoc clinics alongside the Consultant Neuro-Ophthalmology team at the Department of Clinical Neurosciences in Edinburgh.

The successful candidate is expected to be enthusiastic, a team player, reflective, innovative and have good interpersonal skills.

The candidate will be expected to have experience and competence of assessing and providing treatment for patients with ocular motility,adult strabismus and neurological defects and work collaboratively with Orthoptists, Consultant Specialists and multidisciplinary colleagues to provide a high standard of quality care.

A diploma/degree in Orthoptics, HCPC registration and evidence of training to Masters level in sub specialist area or equivalent experience are essential. Willing to accept applicant in trainee role under Annex 21 with full support and training to develop provided.
