Community Physiotherapy – Edinburgh Community Rehabilitation and Support Service (ECRSS)
Band 6 Specialist Physiotherapist – Neurological Rehabilitation
36 hrs, Permanent
The Edinburgh Community Rehabilitation and Support Service currently provide high quality rehabilitation for people in Edinburgh who require support following a stroke. The Edinburgh Integrated Joint Board has agreed substantial funding to expand this service to also support individuals requiring specialist neurological rehabilitation for other neurological long term conditions.
We are seeking a Specialist Physiotherapist to join this well‑established multidisciplinary team as it expands to support people with a wide range of neurological conditions. The service delivers rehabilitation in people’s homes, as well as through individual outpatient appointments and group sessions. The team works progressively, using technology to maximise rehabilitation outcomes, intervening early to support people to maximise their recovery and to live healthy lives in the community, meeting both their health and social needs.
The Physiotherapists are part of the wider Community Physiotherapy Services with access to regular in-service training. A strong professional supervision and support structure is in place.
The focus for the next three years, in line with EHSCP strategic priorities is to increase the capacity of our current community rehabilitation services, which includes ECRSS to enable more people to be discharged home from hospital as soon as they are medically ready to do so; to receive specialist rehabilitation in their own homes and to intervene early to support people with long-term conditions to live healthy lives. This is an exciting time for EHSCP to expand and redesign community rehabilitation services with the aim to provide better outcomes for people and create a positive place to work.

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
We will fully support disabled candidates, and candidates with long-term conditions or who are neurodivergent by making reasonable adjustments to our recruitment policy and practices.

AI tools like ChatGPT or Copilot can be great for planning and preparing your application—but your answers must be your own.
- Show us the real you: Your application should reflect your skills, experience, and motivations authentically.
- Use AI wisely: It’s fine to use AI for ideas or to check spelling and grammar, but don’t let it write your answers.
- Why this matters: Applications that rely on AI-generated content may be withdrawn. By applying, you confirm your responses are based on your own knowledge and achievements.
Tip: Think of AI as a helper, not a substitute. We want to understand you—not an AI tool.
