As part of this transformation, NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) and NHS Education for Scotland (NES) have joined to form a new organisation: Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland). This new organisation will play a pivotal role in supporting the renewal and ensuring the long-term sustainability of health and care services across Scotland.

Work Pattern: Fixed Term, Part Time, 21.6 (21 hours and 36 minutes) hours per week

Who We Are
PSD Scotland unites expertise from NES and NSS in a way that will allow us to accelerate national programmes to support the NHS to deliver better care, now and in the future.
We support staff with education and training, provide the tools and data that improve services, and run vital national functions such as procurement, logistics and blood, tissue and cell services.
The NHS Scotland Academy, Learning and Innovation directorate supports the development of learning and innovation within the organisation which will have system-wide impact on the development of the health and social care workforce.
Uniquely, the Director works across the executive teams of two national health boards: NES and NHS Golden Jubilee to lead the development, implementation, and ongoing management of the directorate.
The Opportunity
The Knowledge Management and Discovery (KMD) Business Unit manages access to resources to inform practice and learning for the health and social care workforce.
The business unit supports both the management and use of the resources hosted on The Knowledge Network a national digital library and Turas Learn a learning management system for NES and other organisations.
We are looking for a Digital Library and Cataloguing Librarian (Senior Analyst) to assist with the running of the library management system (Alma) underpinning our national digital library, Library Search, for health and social care staff. The role has a focus on maintaining cataloguing quality as well as supporting library staff in using the system.

Working within the Knowledge Management and Discovery Business Unit you will have the opportunity to bring your unique skills to help plan and coordinate delivery of the Knowledge Network and national library platforms to provide access to knowledge and learning resources for health and care professionals.

Those working in the KMD team>offer a broad range of skills and experience, if you can offer some or all of these, we’d love you to apply:
- Experience of configuring, and supporting library staff in using, a modern library management system
- Good knowledge of cataloguing standards including MARC21, AACR2 and RDA, classification schemes and authority control
- Experience of creating guidance materials and delivering training
- Experience supporting user services and helpdesk activities
- Effective communicator knowing how to make complex technical information and language simple (both verbally and in writing)
- Demonstrate honesty, integrity, care and compassion when dealing with others, utilising tact and persuasion skills when necessary
- Ability to work on own initiative, to organise and prioritise own workloads, to meet strict deadlines
