The role:
This post is for a Health Visitor within North West Glasgow’s Locality Children’s Services Team. It is an autonomous clinical role responsible for delivering the Universal Pathway, managing a designated caseload, providing clinical leadership, and ensuring high‑quality, evidence‑based care. The role also includes reciprocal cover for other caseloads to maintain service continuity.

Full-time, Permanent
Shift Pattern - Monday - Friday
Base location - Plean Street Health & Care Centre, G14 0YJ
Key responsibilities:
Deliver Universal Pathway — providing assessments, interventions and health promotion for all children on the caseload.
Autonomous caseload management — full accountability for assessment, referral, communication, and care quality.
Supervise and delegate — oversee the day‑to‑day work of team members and review delegated tasks.
Public health contribution — work with multi‑agency teams to address wider health needs.
Specialist interventions — including parenting support, psycho‑social interventions, health education, and immunisation.
Safeguarding responsibilities — manage complex issues such as child protection, domestic abuse, addictions, perinatal mental health, disability, and life‑limiting conditions.
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
NMC registration — must be a first‑level registered nurse with a valid NMC registration.
Post‑registration qualification — required in Health Visiting/Public Health Nursing.
Relevant experience — experience working as a PHN/Health Visitor.
Specialist skills — including health promotion, psychosocial interventions, parenting support, and immunisation.
Knowledge of legal and ethical frameworks — essential for autonomous practice.
