Applications are invited for a locum Consultant Cardiologist specialising in Electrophysiology (EP). The post-holder will be a fully trained and independent consultant cardiologist and electrophysiologist competent in invasive EP procedures. The post is based at Golden Jubilee University National Hospital in Clydebank for an initial fixed period of 35 weeks.
Candidates should be fully independent with basic Electrophysiological studies, SVT ablation in all its forms, AF ablation using Cryoablation. Experience in the mapping and ablation of complex atrial and ventricular arrhythmia is desirable.
The electrophysiology service undertakes approximately 750 cath lab procedures annually with planned service growth. This position will help support the expansion of the current sessions, to support management of waiting lists and reduce waiting times for EP procedures.
The Electrophysiology & Complex Device service at the GJNH provides for a large and growing population of adults with cardiac arrhythmias and device related problems. The unit offers a comprehensive arrhythmia service with rapidly increasing levels of activity, serving the West of Scotland. The unit has a lead extraction program dealing with quaternary referrals from other hospitals.
The post, which will be available from August 2026, and is for a fixed term of 35 weeks in the first instance.
