Applicants must have full GMC Registration, a license to practise and eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview. Portfolio Pathway (formerly known as CESR - Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) route doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive consultant post once it has been awarded. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.

Applications are welcome for the above Permanent, full time (40 hours per week) post based in the Western General Hospital.

This new post has been created to support and enhance the delivery of pathology services within NHS Lothian. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work within the histopathology service in one of the leading pathology departments in the United Kingdom.

The post is primarily based at the Western General Hospital (WGH) and are mainly aiming to enhance the delivery of Gastrointestinal, Urological, Breast and Dermatopathology subspecialty areas. However, the department may also accommodate other subspecialty interests depending on the needs of the service and the diagnostic interests of the successful candidate. These are offered as a full time (1.0 WTE, 10 PA) post, but applications from individuals wishing to work less than full time are also welcomed.
