Entry Criteria for a Specialty Doctor:
A doctor appointed to this grade:
shall have full registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council (GMC);
And
- shall have completed at least four years’ full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a less than full-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme or specialty registrar locum appointment for training (LAT);
Or
- shall have equivalent training, experience or competencies, either in the UK or overseas.
Applications are welcome for the above Fixed Term, part time (40 hours per week) post based in Royal Infirmary, Simpson Centre for Reproductive Health.

This fixed term post has arisen in response to service requirements. This post will be based at RIE and will join an established and experienced team of reproductive health doctors.
The standard week will include outpatient and inpatient activity, and contribution to out of hours on-call rota (middle grade 1:8). The successful applicant will have a range of clinical experience and competence in general obstetrics and gynaecology. GMC is essential.

Learning and continuous professional development
Licence to practice. Additional post-graduate qualifications, e.g. MRCOG desirable. Wide experience in general obstetrics and gynaecology.
NHS Lothian University Hospital Services are seeking a Specialty / Associate Specialist Doctor to join a team of established NHS obstetrics and gynaecology doctors. The posts will be based at RIE. The unit is well supported by specialist Radiology, Pathology, and Surgical Services. The unit also has close links to the University of Edinburgh. The Obstetrics and Gynaecology service is a Lothian wide service, and the person appointed may be required to work at other sites by the needs of the service.
