Applications are invited for the following locum posts on a fixed-term basis for 12 months:
• Consultant Anaesthetists (Full Time / Part Time / Flexible Working)
We are seeking enthusiastic and committed individuals to join our dynamic team within a rapidly expanding organisation. The successful candidates will provide general and regional anaesthesia across a range of surgical specialties, including orthopaedics, general surgery and colorectal surgery. There is a particular focus on our highly successful national orthopaedic programme, supported by our Enhanced Recovery programme and extensive robotic surgical programme.
The Department of Orthopaedics is now one of the largest arthroplasty units in the United Kingdom, delivering over 30% of all hip and knee replacements for NHS Scotland, and approximately 45% of those undertaken by West of Scotland hospitals.
This is an exciting time to join NHS Golden Jubilee University Hospital. As part of an £80m Scottish Government investment, we are continuing to expand both orthopaedic and general surgical services. This expansion will double orthopaedic activity and increase general surgical activity by 160%. Our current suite of 15 theatres is increasing to 26, opening in phases between 2023–2025.
The clinical duties will include:
- Anaesthetic services in theatre
- Pre-assessment responsibilities
- Support to the Acute Pain Service
- Participation in the on-call rota (details can be discussed on enquiry)
Applicants must hold full GMC registration and be on the Specialist Register, or be eligible for admission within 6 months of the interview date.
