Ambulance Control Centre (ACC) Dispatch Manager

We are seeking a dynamic, inspirational, and experienced manager who reports to the Head of Service for ACC for the management of the ACC Emergency Call Handling and Dispatch teams who work 24/7 to deliver excellent care to our patients.

The role has the responsibility for the effective management of the dispatch elements of ACC, meeting performance targets on service delivery whilst ensuring the wellbeing of staff.

You must be capable of working on your own initiative and have experience of managing teams. You will have exceptional personnel management skills and be able to lead and inspire those within your team.

As a key member of the ACC Senior Management Team, you should possess significant experience at middle or senior management levels within Health and Social care and have a proven track record of success, sound judgement and decision making. In addition to this, you will also need a proven track record of performance delivery and evidence of exceptional people management skills and partnership working.

You will be influential, determined, quick thinking and a people manager, strong communications and interpersonal skills are essential.

The postholder should be able to make East or North ACC their standard base, but regular travel is expected to the other Control Centres and an element of home working is achievable through agreement. Taking part in the ACC on call rota will be encouraged and supported.

The Assessment Centre and Interviews will be held on the 7th July 2026 in the SAS National Headquarters, Gyle Square, 1 South Gyle Crescent, Edinburgh, EH12 9EB.
