An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to join the senior nursing team as SCN/SCODP for PACU /Recovery within the Perioperative Department at the Golden Jubilee University National Hospital, where we deliver both regional and national services including Cardiac, Thoracic, Colorectal, General, and Orthopaedic Services.

About the Role

Our perioperative department consists of 20 theatres, which include Cardiac surgery, Thoracic, Orthopaedic and General/Colorectal surgery. As SCN/SCODP, you will be responsible for the daily management of the PACU Recovery speciality within the perioperative department to ensure patients receive a high standard of safe, effective and person-centred care. You will also develop close working relationships with other theatre specialities and areas such as Critical care and the Cath Labs.

You will have a focus on theatre efficiency and utilisation to support patients through their perioperative journey.

You should be able to demonstrate strong, effective leadership, particularly through change whilst living by our values with kindness and compassion. A commitment to quality, evidence-based care is essential whilst having a can-do attitude.

You will be responsible for ensuring appropriate learning opportunities for registered and non-registered staff and preparing staff for future roles within NHS Scotland.

You will be integral in the delivery of the strategic vision and plan for the hospital, achieving excellence by improving how we deliver our services for the people of Scotland.
