About the Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen within the Digital Service of NHS Golden Jubilee University Hospital. As the Head of Digital Application Support you will play a key role in the management & support of the Digital Services within NHS GJUNH. The Board comprises of the Golden Jubilee University National Hospital, Research Institute, Innovation Centre & Conference Hotel.

As a key member of the Digital Management Team, the post holder will ensure the streamlined and effective operation of the Applications Support Teams covering Clinical & Corporate systems as well as Systems Integration Teams. Working within the ITIL Service Management Framework, we strive to deliver critical digital services in alignment with the business and strategic objectives defined in the NHS Golden Jubilee Digital Strategy and Corporate Objectives.

Managing a staff complement of 15 FTE’s, the post holder will plan, co-ordinate and supervise activities around the management and development of our Digital Applications estate and it’s inter-dependencies. The post-holder will work closely with the Deputy Director of Digital Services and Digital Management Team to ensure systems availability and improvement life-cycles across the entire Applications estate, including ensuring the entire Application portfolio meets the on-going business needs of the organisation by embedding an ethos of Continual Service Improvement. A proven track-record of working collaboratively with colleagues across disparate disciplines in similar organisations to GJUNH will be a key attribute.

The services provided by the post holder and team have a direct and immediate impact on the continuity of patient care to NHS Golden Jubilee.


About You

Applicants must be educated to Degree level in a relevant IT computing subject or demonstrate relevant experience in leading dynamic applications support, development and integration teams, as well as a detailed knowledge of IT Service Management methodologies. Excellent problem solving and communication skills are essential, in addition to working well as part of a larger team.
