NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this post is Monday to Friday.

Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours. 

The successful candidate will work in this newly created post with the existing team at the New Victoria Hospital, providing day case/out-patient clinical care for a wide range of haematological conditions.

Training will be provided.

This is a 6 session post with no on call commitment.

Previous experience in haematology, of a minimum 2 years, is essential. Completion of at least four years’ full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis), is essential.

To practice medicine in the UK you need to hold both GMC registration and a licence to practice.

This post does not have Educational approval and will not be recognised for training.

This post may be eligible for Tier 2 General Sponsorship if no suitable UK or EEA national is identified for the post and requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check

SPECIALTY DOCTOR must meet the following Criteria:

  • shall have full registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council (GMC); and

  • shall have completed at least four years’ full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a less than full-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme or specialty registrar locum appointment for training (LAT); or

  • shall have equivalent training, experience or competencies, either in the UK or overseas.
