Job Advert

NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

An opportunity has arisen for an individual to join our team to provide a key role in supporting the management of our waiting lists, theatre activity and related matters within the Trauma and Orthopaedic Department. The postholder will be based in Ninewells hospital and will be expected to cross cover for others within the team.

You should have proven experience working in a team with an understanding of waiting lists ideally in a healthcare setting. You should possess excellent communication, organisational and problem solving skills. The use of software such as Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Word is an important part of the day to day work. You will need to be a flexible individual with the ability to work on your own and as part of a team. Knowledge of NHS Tayside Access Policy and Waiting Times Guidance and experience of Trakcare booking and managing waiting lists would be advantageous.

The role requires the postholder to communicate in a professional manner with patients, their families and many different groups of hospital staff. This post can, at times, be pressurised therefore the ideal candidate would enjoy working in a challenging fast paced environment.

You will be required to comply with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland throughout your employment.

Informal enquiries should be made to Louise Roberts (01382) 740467, ext. 40467 or email louise.roberts@nhs.scot
