The role:
Applications are sought for an exciting opportunity within a new Clinical Nurse Specialist Team at the Royal Hospital for Children. We are delighted to offer a Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist post working 36 hours per week. The post holder will work as part of a diverse team providing care to children and young people with ENT conditions.
All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
- You will be based at the Royal Hospital for Children (RHC), Glasgow.
- The post is full-time at 36 hours per week, working Monday to Friday.
Key responsibilities:
You will facilitate the provision of direct care and support to children and families with a confirmed ENT condition. As a recognised expert in the speciality, they will have responsibility for providing specialist nursing advice and support to in-patients, out-patients and their families from the time of diagnosis throughout the care pathway. Working as part of the Clinical Nurse Specialist Team and will contribute to the leadership and development of nursing practice within the ENT speciality.
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
- Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
- Specialist knowledge and experience within ENT nursing.
- Knowledge and experience of providing care to children and young people.
- Experience of providing specialist nursing advice and support to patients and families.
- Knowledge of the care pathway for children and young people with ENT conditions.
- Demonstrable leadership experience or a strong interest in leading and developing the nursing team within the ENT speciality.
- Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to the speciality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a diverse multidisciplinary team.
- Passion and a compelling interest in developing specialist nursing practice within ENT.
