The role:
Stobhill Hospital Estates Department is seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic, resilient and hardworking Electrical Bias Estates Manager to join the team.
The post will provide technical expertise and support the operational and, where required, strategic objectives of the service across Stobhill Hospital and associated health centres and clinics.
You will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient and compliant estates services, supporting the management of maintenance activities and contributing to a safe working environment for patients, staff and visitors.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
- This is a permanent post working full-time hours
- Location: Stobhill Hospital Estates Department, with responsibility across the hospital and associated health centres and clinics.
- Working pattern: Monday to Thursday, 09:00–17:00 and Friday, 09:00–15:30. You will also participate in the on-call team to ensure emergency repairs occurring outside normal working hours are attended to in accordance with the current local agreement. The role forms part of a 24/7 maintenance team providing operational maintenance and emergency response for building services.
Key responsibilities:
You will implement Estates Maintenance and work in accordance with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Health and Safety requirements and SHTM policies and procedures. They will provide technical expertise in the operation and maintenance of safe and efficient systems of work for engineering and building-related issues, ensuring compliance with statutory, mandatory, safety, environmental and quality standards, policies and procedures.
You will assist supervisors with the day-to-day organisation and management of workloads and priorities and will have site responsibility for estates management issues both within and outwith normal working hours. The role will involve supporting operational maintenance and emergency response across electrical, mechanical and building fabric services and contributing to the delivery of a safe working environment for patients, staff and visitors.
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
- Apprenticeship in an engineering or building-related core trade.
- Degree-level qualification in an Engineering or Building discipline.
- Electrical bias and relevant technical knowledge within an estates environment.
- Willingness to undertake further training in non-core skills across all service requirements.
- Willingness to undertake specialist and refresher training required for the duties of the post.
- Designated individuals will be required to undertake training to become certified as an Authorised Person.
- Knowledge and understanding of NHS GG&C Health and Safety requirements and SHTM policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of statutory, mandatory, safety, environmental and quality standards relevant to estates services.
