This is a full-time training post within the Department of Renal Medicine, NHS Lothian, designed to provide higher specialty training experience in Nephrology for doctors at ST4 level or above. The successful candidate will gain experience across the breadth of modern nephrology including acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, dialysis, transplantation and glomerular disease. Clinical duties will include participation in inpatient and outpatient nephrology services, multidisciplinary team working and management of patients requiring haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh provides renal services to Lothian & Borders and kidney transplantation to the North, East and South-East of Scotland, and kidney-pancreas transplantation for the whole of Scotland and Northern Ireland. The post holder will be based mainly in the Department of Renal Medicine at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and would participate in the renal registrar on call rota
GMC registered medical practitioner. License to practice Completed core medical training or equivalent MRCP or equivalent
The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh provides general nephrology and dialysis services for Lothian and Borders, kidney transplantation to the North, East and South-East of Scotland, and kidney-pancreas, liver and islet transplantation for the whole of Scotland.
