Following a successful pilot of integrating an Occupational Therapist working in a multidisciplinary team in General Practice across the Broadbay Medical Practice and Langabhat Medical Practice, we are recruiting to two Primary Care Occupational Therapy posts which will cover all 9 practices in the Western Isles.

The occupational therapy service will work to improve the health and well-being of patients, age 16 and over, with physical and mental health conditions that impact on their functioning. This may include people coping with the impact of long-term conditions, people experiencing difficulties at work/college or low level of anxiety/depression, or those who may be socially isolated due to poor health and/or caring roles.

Person-centred assessment, proactive interventions, self-management strategies and supports are utilised to enable patients to manage their health and well-being and continue with their daily lives.

This is a new service delivery model and the post holder will be involved in promoting awareness and increasing understanding of Occupational Therapy with GPs, the wider multidisciplinary team and the public.

You must be an HCPC registered Occupational Therapist and must produce evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).

We offer the support of a professional and well-established integrated team of Occupational Therapy staff who work across the Western Isles with links to a national network of Occupational Therapists working in Primary Care across Scotland.
