Diabetic Retinal Screening (DRS) Service,
Base will be Buchanan Centre, Coatbridge and Central Clinic, Cumbernauld.
This is a part time 22.5 hours post - Salary will be pro-rata
The aim of the Diabetes Retinopathy Screening (DRS) service in Lanarkshire is to provide an annual retinal screening examination for all patients over 12 years of age diagnosed with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes.
The job holder will be part of a multidisciplinary team and will primarily:
Carry out routine visual acuity examinations
Apply eye drops to patients
Carry out retinopathy screening of all patients with diabetes
Record clinical information at both static and mobile sites
Required to register for the Diploma in Retinal Screening (level 3, City & Guilds) and to complete it within two years of registration.
Experience within a healthcare setting.
Current clean driving licence.
Computer literate and have good keyboard skills.
Able to work autonomously, use own initiative, prioritise work and meet deadlines.
Good problem solving, time management and organisational skills
Committed team player with team working skills and able to work flexibly within the requirements of the screening service.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Good level of manual dexterity.
