Applications are invited for the post of Consultant Clinical Scientist based in the Haemopoietic stem cell processing and regional Haemato-oncology laboratory.

that a variable degree of ongoing professional development may be required which would be facilitated by mentoring and a targeted teaching programme.
The successful applicant will, ultimately, be responsible for all aspects of the processing and provision of the cellular therapies used by the Scottish
Haemopoietic Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Immunotherapies (HCTCI) Unit. The Stem Cell Laboratory is located at the Gartnavel General Site, while the HCTCI
unit is on the Queen Elizabeth site. The transplant programme performs 80-90 allografts and 120 autografts annually. The laboratory processes a wide range of cellular products including bone marrow, peripheral blood stem cells, Cord blood, Commercial CAR-T cells and a wide range of experimental ATIMPs delivered through in a state of the art clinical trials portfolio. The post-holder will be encouraged to participate actively in all these areas and will be responsible for ensuring accreditation of the laboratory by both
the Human Tissue Authority (HTA) and JACIE. They will be the Designated Individual successful applicant will be a key member of the transplant team and will work
most closely in this area but they will also line manage clinical scientists in Haemato-oncology and Haemostasis, in close collaboration with Haematology
consultants and laboratory management in these sub-specialties. Experience in stem cell processing would be an advantage. However, candidates with a PhD in a relevant field, (or working towards this qualification), or who have FRCPath – part 1 and hold HPC registration as a Clinical Scientist with an honours degree in a relevant science will be considered.
The shift pattern is; 9.00am to 5.00pm
