Radiographer / Mammography Specialist – 37.5hrs permanent/full time considered x 2.5
West of Scotland Breast Screening Centre,
Base – 77 Nelson Mandela Place, Glasgow G2 1QT.
This maybe classed as an Annexe 21 training post if you are applying for it as a Band 5 There will be a course to take to gain your PG Cert in Mammography which will last for approximately 9 months.
We are looking for radiographers to join our team at the West of Scotland Breast Screening Service. The West of Scotland Breast Screening Service (WSBSS) offers mammography screening to 280,000 women on a three - yearly cycle either at the static centre or on one of seven mobile units. Between 4% and 5% of women screened are then invited for further assessment to review clinics held in the static centre in Glasgow. The geographical area covered by WSBSS includes Greater Glasgow, Argyll and Clyde, Lanarkshire and West Forth Valley Health Boards. As a mammographer your main responsibility will be to carry out mammography screening x-ray examinations and provide direct care for women attending mobile units and/or the static center. At the static center you will also undertake additional specialised x-ray procedures and participates in interventional Radiological techniques on women returning for further investigation at review clinics. Full and part time positions are available.
Requirements for the post are:
HCPC Registration
BSc (hons) Degree in Radiography or equivalent
Post-Graduate Certificate in Mammography or equivalent (training will be provided)
Full Driving Licence
Access to Car (car leasing may be possible)
The shift pattern for this post is Monday – Sunday 08:00 – 20:00 Flexible extended working day
