Speech and Language Therapist

Band 5 – Community Paediatrics

Full Time – 37.5 hours – 2 posts

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated and well-organised Speech and Language Therapist to join our friendly children’s service.

You will be passionate about working with children and young people, and you will work closely with health colleagues, partner agencies, parents and carers. You will be an excellent communicator and enjoy working both independently and as part of a team in different settings. You will carry a caseload of children and young people with a range of speech, language and communication difficulties with support and supervision from more experienced/specialist staff as appropriate.

You will be part of a supportive and professional service with good admin support. There are excellent working relationships with colleagues within schools and local authorities, and the service has a strong commitment to CPD.

This post will provide you with:

  • experience of working with a mixed and varied caseload of   children/young people
  • the opportunity to work with other generalist speech and language therapists
  • the opportunity to work with specialist and clinical lead speech and language therapists
  • the opportunity to work within a range of community settings including clinics, home visits, and mainstream    nursery/school settings
  • a structured programme of support and supervision to complete your NQP competencies and flying start
  • an allocated buddy for informal support
