A vacancy has arisen for an experienced mental health nurse to work with working age adults experiencing both acute and severe and enduring mental health problems. The post is based within Caithness and the post holder will be highly skilled and confident in the delivery of recovery- based approaches, having the ability to autonomously manage their workload safely and effectively, demonstrating enhanced skills such as clinical risk assessment / management and positive risk taking. They will also be responsible for training and support to students and wider colleagues.


The successful candidate will be a registered mental health nurse with a valid registration with the NMC. A degree or equivalent specialist knowledge is required. Extensive band 5 post registration experience with working age adults is required with the post holder experienced at providing evidence based interventions for the full range of mental health problems. Experience in community mental health is preferred but consideration will be given to candidates who can demonstrate they have the transferrable skills and experience to work autonomously within a remote and rural area.


This is a permanent 37.5 hours post per week, in addition you are required to participate in an on call rota which includes provision of a place of safety and escort to New Craig’s Hospital service in Inverness.   A current driving licence is essential for this post.


Relocation package is available to the successful candidate.
